I've been using Impress weekly for two months now. In no particular order here are some difficulties I'm having. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, missing some options or perhaps I've found a bug or too. I'm simply not programmer enough to know.
Unable to create Presentation Styles.
Bitmaps imported into the *.sob file disappear every time I shut down the program. This is not good!
Impress crashes, sometimes (too often) when adding graphics; when changing formatting of text element.
Character menu does not appear when highlighting text pasted into a slide from Writer.

Norman:
I'm having the same problem with Impress crashing almost eberytime when adding graphics and text formatting not being possible after the fact.
This seems to be isolated to the 2.0 beta for me, those things seem fine in ver1.1.4
However I had switched to 2.0 beta as I'm a heavy OLE embedder (research scientist, charts, graphs and tables etc.) and Impress ver1.1.4 couldn't keep up. Unfortunately for me the 2.0 Beta isn't up to speed yet. So I struggle through with Outlook and Powerpoint loaded alongside OOo Writer and Calc. Be nice when I can ditch the rest of the MS packages. |
