|
|
I just started using OpenOffice and am pleased so far with the test documents that I've opened from MS formats, especially in Impress. They look identical to the original, including the design template.
However, I'm confused about how to make all of the MS PowerPoint templates available in OpenOffice (on the side panel on the right). I gather that it's possible from reading some other postings, but could someone give me a step-by-step?
Thanks,

For each MS template:
go to File > Templates
Choose Save ; a dialog opens where you see (probably) three folders
(in my case these are: My Templates; Presentation Backgrounds and Presentations)
Choose the appropiate one and save you're MS template there, make sure to fill in a name.
Save and close the dialog
The template now should be available in the panel'on the right side.
(try to double-click on "Preview not available." It might surpirse you. (sometimes, not always))
You could also import the templates. If you click one of the three folders and then rightclick you will have the option to "Import template".
OK, that's far enough, now you're on your own
Check it out and play with it. You'll find most answers yourself, if not, please don't hesitate to come back to us, w'll be here
