Hello I'm new to these forums. I have tried searching for my answer but it seems to elude me - so here is my questions.
1. Is it possible to make a minimal installation of OOo (Core) with only a few components ontop of it (ie. Writer, Calc and so on).
2. Is there any way that i can make the minimal installation of OOo run as a service ?

1. Yes. IIRC, when you install 1.x, it asks you whether you want a optimal, minimal, or other type of configuration If you choose the right one, it asks which components you want.
2. Do you mean a service as in the Windows NT meaning---an example being a IIS or Apache? No, OpenOffice.org itself is not a service, but you can write a service that uses OpenOffice.org programically. Here is an example:
