I'm pretty well brand new at this. Tried Search, but maybe it's because I know so little yet; I couldn't find this.

In a long document intended for 2-sided (duplex) printing, convention is to set mirror margins, with page numbers on the outside. The margins might be set at 0.9" (both left and right) and the gutter at 4", so there is extra space where the binding (or the 3-hole punch) goes.

So far I can't see how this is set as an automatic default (which is what I'm looking for) in OO. Confused

On Format->Page on the page tab, choose MIRRORED under page layout. You'll notice your left and right margins change to inner and outer. It should work from there.
