Hello,

I have a http:// hyperlink in one of my SXW text document.

This hyperlink has been created with the hyperlink button in OOo Writer standard menu.
(Then I have removed the blue color and underline added by Writer when created the hyperlink)

My problem: When I use the same button and delete the hyperlink address, this does not delete the hyperlink form the text.

Does somebody know how can I remove this link?

Thanks

Pascal

Hi, Thanks for the answer

The solutions in theses messages not only removes the hyperlink but also _all formating_.
This is not what I need.

I found that
Right Click
-> Chracter...
-> Hyperlink Tab

lets you remove hyperlinks and keep the formatting.

The menus are a bit misleading.

There has been a request on OpenOffice.org development
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=9479

But it does not seems that this will be changed.
To me a small re-organization of the menus would make OOo Witer even more user friendly.

Cheers

Pascal

Almost remove... when you remove the link from the hyperlink tap, you can still see a menu item called "Open hyperlink" if you right click the text that was a hyperlink... and still is recognized as one by OOo.

I don't understand why there is STILL no "remove hyperlink" option in OOo. The hyperlinks are added by that !*"#!"* automation, and then people don't know how to remove it.

Just highlight the hyperlink, right click, select 'default formatting'. This will format the link as plain text. No more link.....

They just want the hyperlink gone, not the formatting. If you had read the posts in this thread you would know that.

See the one by pascalv, not three posts above yours...

For your information:

In OpenOffice 3.1.0 you can finally right click a link in Writer and select "Remove hyperlink".

OK, I want to do the reverse: keep the hyperlink, but have it display in black type without the underscore AND only in my table of contents, not in the body of my newsletter. So a global change in Tools won't do it. Any ideas, folks? Thanks!

In order to remove a hyperlink, May be which one you have pasted it from the web.

HINT, Right click the mouse and select Default Formatting, and the hyper link is gone.
