OOo V2.0 too hard to set up?

Boy, is V2.0 powerful, but confusing to set up. For instance, what used to be called "Option Bar" (it ran along the bottom of the screen) no longer exists! And when I click on "View/Tool bars/Customize/3D settings" the 3D settings toolbar will not show! I seem to be spending ages trying to set up OOo 2.0 to be the way i want it. Has anyone written some simple instructions that cut through the bewildering array of options? I just love working with V2.0, but I can't use it with my school students as it is too hard to set up and find things. Help!!
