Options all showing up as Boxes

I'm using Xandros linux, open office came installed and had boxes (or zeros if you will) where the text should be in the tabs (or options, if you will ) and as well as in the menus. If you guys need, I'll make a screen shot of it, but its pretty self explanitory.

I thought it may have been a bad install, so I reinstalled, and same issue.

Also, when I tried printing a document, it came out light blue, instead of black.

Help?

Same deal goes for the other OO apps aswell.
