.odt is the default file extension for the upcoming OOo 2 Writer. It is only slightly different to the sxw format, and the main reason for the change in format mame / extension was to remove references to OOo or SO, so that the format can become a non program specific standard.
Of course OOo 2 will still be able to read/write .sxw files in the same way as OOo 1 can.

Looks like the things are not exactly that way: I've experienced some (thought minor) differences in displaying the same documents with OOo 1.9 m100 and OOo 1.1.4. |

Yes me too. even OOo 1.9.104 and 100 are open the same file with a some difference. For example, I saw that a few lines slipped. _________________ Best regards.
