Is there a way to create a spreadsheet and enter several items of information that can be then be displayed in fields set up in Writer?
I am specifcally thinking about creating project specifications which are compiled from a set of separate documents depending on the job requirements. It would be nice to enter the poroject specific information such as title, date of issue (not necessarily the current date) and client contact.

Set up a db and connect it to writer. I would suggest you use dbf instead of sxc. There are many discussion in this forum about how to set up a database using dBase format (dbf) and also there are instructions in the help file, so I'm not going to repeat here.
