Hello then,
I've installed oOo 1.9.104 onto my USB flash drive, and was happy to see that it actually runs on my faculty network. However, the standard Windows setup in my faculty does not carry the ttf required to work with proper Old English symbols, so that I am crippled when working in the faculty. The software installation procedure in this place is too bureaucratic (requires head-of-department signatures etc), so I thought it would be great if there were a function by which one might import TrueType fonts directly into oOo instead of through the O/S. Now, does this mean I go onto the voting system and propose such an implementation, or has some smartalec already thought of this? |

Hi this is Jagadeesh , Iam studying Final B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering .
If u want to add the new fonts into ur OO for Linux version .
u've to go for the OpenOffice directory by typing ,
cd ~/OpenOffice.org (it may varies from One Version to One Slice of Linux )
for Example, In SuSE 8.2 it is cd ~/OpenOffice.org and in Fedora Core it is cd ~/.rhopenoffice vice versa.
Any way search for Openoffice directory and search for "spadmin" executable file and go to that directory and execute it by typing "./spadmin", then choose the fonts button and install the whatever fonts u want to Install by specifying the path for ttf fonts.
cheers
Any messages send me to the addr : Jagadeesh_svuce@rediffmail.com |

Cheers for that!
Only I'm afraid they haven't given me access to the faculty's unix machines. I'm stuck with Windows XP. |
