datapilot format lost on refresh

hi
i have an excel file that works fine in Calc except for a pivot table vs datapilot table issue. in the source field for my datapilot table the number format has a leading zero, ie, 01234 but when the datapilot table is refreshed, the leading zero format is lost, ie, becomes 1234. i have tried checking the format of the cells is the same and tried recreating datapilot table from scratch and the same thing happens. any sugesstions?
