Spell checker support for more than one language

Is it possible to have spell checking support for two languages at the same time?

As a Canadian living in Brazil, I need to work in both English and Portuguese. I downloaded the Portuguese version of Open Office because spell checking in Portuguese is essential for me, but I will also be writting documents in English and will need spell checking for them too. Seems to me that many people in almost any country may want support for both their native language and English at the same time. Is this possible? Without this capability, Open Office is no good for me.

Forget it. I found lots of discussion about this topic. Unfortunately it didn't help - however, I have decided to uninstall the Portuguese version and start over with the English version then try to add the Portuguese dictionary to that. I will post again if I have trouble. Thnx anyway.

Do check back. I run OOo with British English, American English, Canadian English, French and German dictionaries.

Hi Phil,

It worked fine! After downloading and installing the English version (1.1.4), I then went added the Portuguese with no problem at all.

I suspect that the first method I tried had a problem. The Portuguese version was 1.1.3. I had attempted to add an English dictionary to that, without success.

I am happy with what I now have, only, it means that the occasionaly unilingual Portuguese speaking user of my computer will have difficulty using OO.
