Structure Advice for oOo based project

I've just begun setting up a project for Indie filmmakers that will create a suite of tools created in oOo. It's also open source in the spirit of oOo but I'm trying to set up the structure for the project and as such I've come across this one problem.

There will be a number of databases to track things like, Comparable Films, Business Plans, Budgets, Financials and more but this is where I'm a little confused.

When setting up the database items should the system use one database and just use different tables or should we create different databases?

Basicly, what are the advantages of using multiple databases as opposed to using one database with multiple tables?
