HI: I currently use wordperfect (Windows XP, WP 12) 5-6 days a week to create progress notes and other documents. I am trying to migrate to openoffice, first to windows, later to linux. I have both the "stable" version 1.1.4 installed and the "beta" version 1.9.79. In the process of having problems assigning macros to keys (mostly in linux), I have begun to wonder: which version should I be using? and am I going to have problems since I have both versions installed?

From cruising the forum, it appears that there is a more active process of resolving bugs in 1.9.79 than in 1.1.4, or am I wrong, or does resolving bugs in one also solve problems in the other?

Thank you

1.9.74 is rather old by now. There are more activity debuging it because it has many bugs... For everyday work I recommend you to use 1.1.4, and for testing, to download the last version (1.9m113).
By the way, I have no problems assigning macros to key combinations in Linux.
