Hi,
I have just migrated to Linux and found my pilot logbook in Calc created on and for Windows to be a bit 'distorted' due to missing fonts in Linux and other font/button/dialog sizing issues.
So, what I would like to do is do a XML wide find/replace action and replace for example all 'Arial' font designators in the various XML modules with 'Bitstream Vera Sans' as this is pretty much undoable to do manually (timewise).
Is that dangerous? Is there a macro out there that does all this? I could write one myself but I have never done anything like it and have read some posts in other parts of this forum that seem to indicate that it's a bit tricky to edit XML.
Your thoughts and idea's are highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Marinus. |

I think OOo do it automaticaly. I have a lot of documents using Arial font. And because I don't use sufficiently "style" possibilities I am unable to replace that font (I have to do it manually). But when I open them under Linux where I have not installed Arial police they appear to be Arial like. It's a topic requiring further sudy but I never do it : how it is managed exacly ? _________________ Linux & Windows OOo3.0

Hi Serge,
that is exactly my problem: Arial to Linux.
However, on my 1024/768 laptop Arial 10 pt is too large and dialogs 'explode'.
Therefore I would like to do a document wide restructure. This ofcourse is no
problem with cells but for Dialogs and Buttons is undoable.
I think I'm going to take the risk and write a simple macro, and execute it on a copy first ofcourse ...
Thanks,
Marinus. |
