Hi,
I am using OpenOffice 1.1 under WinXP Pro. I found it's very slow on startup than 1.01. It takes about 10 sec to startup. And one thing I notice is every time I run the exe, it will connect to the internect automactially and Send & Receive lots of packets (I saw these from my network connection status) And if I disconnect my NIC. OO's startup become very fast, just need about 1 sec.
How can I make OO startup faster and don't check the internet connection every time?

try going into tools / options / internet / and select "none" under proxy.
i have found it to help Ooo fire up quicker. |

| Wow- this really made a big difference with my machine- I would recommend that people give this a try. |

It works for me either, I think that the Release has to include this as default |
