|
|
I have several "heading 1"s and then several subheadings (heading 2; heading 3) within each heading 1. I want Open Office to automatically number them as follows:
1.
1.1
1.2.
1.2.1.
etc.
I've tried everything (outline numbering, defining numbering for each heading) and I cannot get the numbers to display in the hierarchy. Instead, Heading 1 number correctly, but Heading 2 entries number sequentially instead of in relationship to Heading 1.
Help! I've combed the Help manuals and the forums and I'm still confused. I must have some little thing wrong. |

| In Tools > Outline Numbering select each Level below 1 and set the Show Sublevels box to the number of that particular Level. You should see the numbering as you want it in the preview window on the right. |

Thanks so much! I really thought I had tried that already, but I followed your instructions (nothing more) and everything finally updated correctly. You saved me alot of frustration |
