I recieved an English text from someone who had MS Word set up for right to left languages.
When I opened the doc the left hand side of it extended outside of the 'text boundary', well off the page actually.
I highlighted all the text - clicked on the left to right icon and on the one that moves everything to the left but it didn't help.
Problem is that the icons for left margin etc are not visible so I can't drag them inwards.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Mike
P.S. As a work around I copied the text into a plain text editior and then pasted it back into OO again. This will enable me to work on the document but of course I may have lost wanted formatting. |

I did have a look but wasn't sure what settings to choose ?
I assumed that the text boundary related to my paper size - A4 and thought that by 'playing' with that I may get the text within the boundaries but that I would later have a problem when printing.
Formatting was my weaker suit in Word and is even more so in OO as I'm new to it.
thanks
Mike
P.S. I continue to wonder how the programmers of Open Office decided on the OO logo as it's the international symbol for a toilet |

I just did a quick check on the web and see that the most common toilet symbol now used is a picture of a man or a woman, but I've seen the OO many times.

Try:
Before text: 0"
After text 0"
First Line: 0"
Then Format Page
Left Margin 1"
Right Margin 1" _________________ Fonts * Opera * Oo Tips * FAQ * New Forum

thanks,
I tried the above on a new document which just came in and it worked but I problems with some graphics that the client had included. I then used the same page settings that she had used in Word and the text is OK but the graphics extended beyond the left and right margins. Not sure what she used to make the graphics but they are made up of multiple of text boxes on a background.
regards,
