Hi
Have a problem where I have opened a powerpoint document recieved via email -
first opened it and it froze my x session - had to kill it. when I restarted
x, openoffice would not start up - would show opening on the task bar and
then just disappear - no splash screen. When I went to terminal window and
su'd, could open up openoffice apps. but when as su, opened up same
powerpoint doc, froze x again and went thru same process. Thereafter could
not open any openoffice app as per above. tried remove and install on debian
system but no go. BTW - could be something todo with my enabling truetype
fonts via xfstt - this presentation did not give me problems before this. I
would gladly include log files but don't know where to find them - looked in
/var/log -? Can anyone help me?
Kind Regards

If you r using gnome then try to run gnome-font-install from terminal window .
gnome-font-install --smart <truetype font dir ex: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ttf >
