I'm working on a large project, and was wondering if anyone knew where I could find some info on how to write a book with OOo? I really don't need the table of contents, but I do need the formating of Chapters, Chapter Names, Chapters divided into sections, and how to get that automatically placed into the header. Page Styles. If you have any info on this, or know where I can find it that would be great!!! Thanks.

OpenOffice.org Writer : the free alternative to Microsoft Word [book] 1st ed.
Weber, Jean Hollis.
It's written by a technical communicator (sometimes seen on OOo mailing list) and addresses issues about writing a book. Check your library. |

I had forgotten all about Jean Webber. Glad you reminded me.
Web page here http://taming-openoffice-org.com/
Brief description of how to write a book and work with chapters here (I've not read this page)

Presumably her book contains a lot more information. _________________ Dale

Somewhere on OOoAuthors.org, Jean describes how she is putting the User Guides together. That will probably be the most useful document for you, once you are past the stage of needing to study the various User Guides.
Note: The search function at OOoAuthors.org sucks. [I say that becuse it couldn't find the tutorial I wrote. ]
Use Google, and try mster document, book, and related terms. [Do an OOoAuthors.org site search only.][Jean might have described the process on her blog.]
