|
|
Hi Everyone,
I tried installing OpenOffice 2.0 (didn't install any version of it before) but I get the "Error 1305" message and the installation stops.
Is there a remedy for it? I've tried searching the registry, playing with the directory names and nothing helps.
I'm stuck and I'm really anxious to try it out.
Thanks,
Shachar. |

Google Error 1305, and you will find your answer there.
Could be a number of things, so you'll have to scan the results to find what exactly you are trying to do. _________________ DILLIGAF |

The solutions are all related to problems with previous installations of OOo.
I've done a fresh install (no OOo before) and got the error message. |

It appeared to be related to the Drive/Directory i was installing from.
Installed it from the root of my windows drive, and it went ok. Go figure |

Lol. I did google and all I got is your helpful message!
Anyway, making the installation directory readable to everybody did the trick.
(right-click -> properties -> security, and add group everybody with read and execute rights.)

Well, it found more for me, including this one:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/873281/
which states as resolution:
| Quote: | RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, repair or upgrade the Windows Installer Service. |
So Error 1305 refers to a corrupt or defect Windows Installer (or maybe a too old version)
Just for the record. _________________ DiGro |
