|
|
Haven't seen this being said before... although maybe I am wrong.
Am I the only one who finds the lack of anti-aliasing in Impress being a pain? I love the program, it's great and it's got alot of potential... but when I try to show it to clients the reaction I usually get is quite mixed. Graphics are great, but the total lack of antialiasing makes the whole presentation look like a garage creation... sharp edges, etc.
Make a simple experiment... draw a generic sircle and press "show". You will get square pixels all around the sircle. Ok, by now I have developed several "tricks" to soften the edges, by using right colors etc. Both Linux and Win versions are affected by this.
Does anyone know if there is ANY chance that this would be fixed one day? _________________ http://www.1control.se |

You can force Windows to anti-alias fonts. This would workaround the issue while we wait.
Windows 2000
1. Go to the Display Properties (Richt-click on the desktop and choose properties)
2. Go to the effects tab.
3. Check the "Smooth Edges of screen fonts"
4. Enjoy
WinXP
I don't remember exactly but it is also on the display properties... |

Anti-aliasing is ready in OpenOffice.org 3.1. It works in edit mode, but not full screen mode. A workaround for full screen mode is to export to PDF. Another workaround for those using Windows is to install the DirectX extension. I think Linux or Windows users can install OxygenOffice (but I haven't verified it). _________________ <signature>
