Partly columned

I have a document that I want to insert some software code into.

For this code I would like to use a few pages with two columns, but all I tried made columns through the entire document. And that doesn't work.

Tables were also tried but that made a horrible mess of things.

The basic tutorials are read, and I don't know what this sort of feature is called so as to search about it, if it even exist..

Help is much appreciated.

Tables should be fine. Turn off header rows, and allow rows to flow across page breaks. Modify the Table Contents style to suit your code.

Otherwise, you need to use a different page style. Insert a manual break, and choose a different page style. If you change the default page style to two columns, then the whole document changes if every page uses the default page style.

Yet another method is to insert a section. That will work better than page styles if you want to start two columns halfway down a page, but tables are probably easier.

Another way is to insert frames, and flow text through frames. This is the hardest to work with, but also the most versatile for Newsletter type layouts.

Oh yes!

Section is the way to go. Thanks a lot.

It also fixed the problem of my code looking really odd when the font was made 6 points small. The space between lines looked as much as a whole line high.

Now I get the text preformatted and coloured. This made my day!
