Hi,
I am newbie with OO i have just started using frm two days...
Ok here are two porblems that i couldnt figure out..
Number 1: Numbering
Now Using Tools -> Outline Numbering I can use the automatic number generation depending no the heading style...
But I would like to see something like this
For Heading 1 -> Chapter <no.> (I mean Chapter 1 for first Heading 1)
And for further Headings i.e, Heading 2-10 -> Section <no.> (Like, Section 1.1 etc..)
Is this possible????
Number 2: Page titles...
I have added the header for the Page, Now in the header I want to add the name of the chapter in to which the page belongs???
Is this possible too???
Thx for ur attention..

I have figured out the first porblem...
In the numbreing styles in the numbering there is a field called Separator
now in the Before if u type any text that will added before the no.
And in the after section if u type anything then that will be added after the no.
But still I cant figure out how to control the Page titles even, if I have to type them in manually I would do that but the minute i type something in the header somewhere it changes headers through out the document is there anyway to control this???? |

Second question: locate curso in yourheader, then Insert Fileds Other, (or Ctrl+ F2)
Document Tab, Chapter.IUnder "Format, you see optons to insert the Chapter name, chapter number, etc. Select the option that suits you and press insert. |

Thx that helps...
Couple of observations...
One: While adding Titles into headers like Chapter name and no. etc. which are not editable set the style u want in the header before adding the field coz once added it's style cant be edited i guess..
Two: In Outline numbering if u want to add as i wanted things like Chapter etc.. and later u plan to generate TOC where one wouldnt like to see these titles like Chapter etc..
Then first keep ur Outline numbering style with out any characters in the separator and generate the TOC then edit ur outline numbering style the way u want now the TOC will remain unaffected.
Hope this helps someone
A really nice software especially i love exporting to pdf now i dont need Acrobat i guess ill be stayin with this |

Not needed. You can change the style afterwards, and the inserted text will reflect the change.

Indeed nice and relatively fast workaround. |
