That's great news considering OOo and Star Office is much more lightwieght and is MUCH cheaper than the MS counterpart. I am not bashing MS here, but OEMs do have a choice when it comes to software that is preinstalled.

The only downside to OOo is the support and documentation that is available. We all know how many how-to books there are on MS Office, and how many night school courses have it. It might be a good idea to push for fairness, but then again, this is MS we are talking about.

Ah well.

The good thing is that OpenOffice.org support and documentation will only improve over time. Once the community really starts to put its weight behind OOo (which is starting to happen), I think more and more OEMs will see enough value in OOo to bundle it with their systems. With continued pressure to bring PC prices down, it's pretty much a no brainer. Once the OEMs buy in, Microsoft will really feel the heat!
