It takes 3 seconds to open my file in MS excel, but it takes 30 seconds to open the same file in open office calc.
Is there any problem?
Why does it take so long to open the simple file than MS excel? |

Hi,
there's no problem by OpenOffice. If you open a MS Excel document
the content behind will be converted to the internal OpenOffice format.
If you wish a quicker start. You should save your file as OpenDocument
calc document. The second reason why the document loading could
take more time then expected is that the OpenOffice instance isn't
already started. (Win) If you using windows you could add OpenOffice
to the start up applications in the taskbar, this will avoid waisting time
for waiting on OO to start.
Cheers
