Got an error message
Help ID: text%2Fscalc%2Fmain0000.xhp
It said this may help, WELL.....it didn't.
The Help file is in the Open Office folder if I can find it you would think the computer could. What do I do now? |

| This sounds like an installation or setup issue. You may find something on the "Setup and troubleshooting" forum. There is also a troubleshooting section in the user guide. |

I've just come across this in the users' list:
| Quote: | There is a link given on that discussion (although I couldn't use it) and the issue has been recognized by OOo developers etc. However try this
First close Openoffice
Then visit the following website and download the four files,
scalc.db
scalc.ht
scalc.jar
scalc.key
http://web.mit.edu/ooffice_v2.0/distrib/i386_rhel4/openoffice.org2.0/help/en/
When downloaded put them into C:\Program Files \OpenOffice .org 2.0\help\en (using the default directory location)
....
This problem is discussed in Issue 59499. I followed the advice given there and downloaded the Linux files. This has restored the Help system. I may, however, download and install the Windows Help files in your reference, above. Thank you. |

| I downloaded the files to the en folder and it still does not work. It seems to work for some people but not me. What do you think I am doing wrong? |

Have you restarted OOo, including closing the quickstarter?

Well I got it to work.
I had d/l the individual files as per noranthon's post then got James post and d/l all at once and installed them, no joy, went back and installed one at a time which it would not let me do as they were already there so I renamed them and install each one separately and it works fine. Why they did not work the first time I have no idea, just one of those computer things.
Thanks for all your help. |

I have the same problem but am unable to get the mit.edu page. I get a 403 - denied error.

Substituting the 4 files in the download for the 4 files already in the help/en folder did the trick. Thanks.
