I just installed 2.0 for the first time. Open Office has changed my default Word files to the Open Office format. How can I can this back?

It has not changed the format at all. All that has happened is that *.doc files are now associated with OOo. This will have been because you selected this option duing installation.

The way to change an association depends upon your version of Windows. Right clicking on the file brings up a menu. Then one of those options (depends which Windows) will give you a list of applications to choose from. Browse and select the program you would like that file extension associated with.
