I have 2 Questions, which should be too easy for you guys, but NOT for me.
Question 1:
a. I would like to know how can I change the Language Keyboard in Ubuntu's
(Open Office.org) Writer.
For Example, in Microsoft Word, to change the Keyboard (from English to
Greek), while you are typing, you press "Alt+Shift" or
(sometimes) "Ctrl+Shift".
Then you can type your characters in your preffered Keyboard Set.
b. By the way, if I want to type a "punctuated" character in a Greek
Keyboard, like "a", or "e", or "o" (but with a punctuation mark on top), do I
do it the same way like in Windows: first press ";" and then "a", or is there
a diff way to enter a "punctuated character" in Ubuntu?
Question 2:
I have noticed that Ubuntu's shortcuts are different from Windows.
For example:
Windows uses shortcuts like "Ctrl+C" for copy.
In Ubuntu you see something like "0xbb".
Basically, if I type "zero, x, b, b", I end up getting no response from the Ubuntu Software.
This makes me want to change all shortcuts to something more common, like Windows, where you have "Ctrl+C" or "Alt+t", e.t.c.
How does an "0xbb" has to be typed to actually work?
Does "0x" imply "Ctrl" or "F1" or something, cause I do not know how to make it work...
Thanks in advance,
Dimitris. |

To change the keyboard you want something like (I used Debian stable rather than Ubuntu):
Applications>Desktop Preferences>Keyboard
You should aslo be able to set an applet in your main tray to switch between four selected keyboards.
"ctrl+A", "ctrl+C", "ctrl+X", "ctrl+V" should all work as on Microsoft. To look at system shortcuts on your machine try:
Applications>Desktop Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts
For OpenOffice shortcuts:
Tools>Customize>Keyboard |
