Short answer is no, I'm afraid not. Well at least no way that I can find or know of.
Cheers

Have you tried pulling the mouse all the way down and over so only a pixel or two would be visible? Worth a try. _________________ Ron from Iowa, USA |

Is there a way to "theme" the Cursor Icon ?
In X i can replace all the Cursors with a transparent one but Open Office seams to use different Cursors. |

I just ran across a dialog box that might help. Have you tried Slide Show - Slide Show Settings...
There is a checkbox for "Mouse Pointer Visible". That might suit your needs. _________________ Ron from Iowa, USA |

This doesn't work unfortunately, and is incredibly annoying. The placement of your mouse cursor doesn't matter, and is completely unrelated to the hourglass.
Someone does have a clever hack to get around it, though:

The hourglass always appears to the bottom left of the slide, and it drives me absolutely nuts. I want very clean slides, and as few distractions as possible in order to give an effective presentation. Any little movement on the screen will immediately cause people to look there instead of paying attention to me and the pictures on the slide. Maybe some people want it so they can have feedback, but I can't stand it.
I couldn't give a lick about animations, which are merely distracting. There are a ton of other features that I don't believe are needed, but when it comes to the very few features I do want, Impress unfortunately doesn't have the same priorities I do.
All I want is simple slides (very little text and pictures), no distractions, and I would enjoy a couple of notes on the screen while presenting. I can get by without notes, but the hourglass at the bottom is particularly annoying for being intentionally put there with no way to get rid of it. |
