Yes, I have also experienced trouble with using OO and MS Publisher. I searched in this forum to see if there was any way to work around this, but it looks like OO is not made compatible with Publisher. It's a shame. We use MS Pub for many office documents and brochures.

You could publish (Using MS Publisher) to MS Powerpoint and then save as a MS Powerpoint file
