Create Transparent Image

Hi,

How do you make a GIF, JPEG, or TIFF image transparent? I have two images in GIF format and I want one to be transparent so that I can overlap it onto the 2nd image. That is, the two images would be over each other and the top one would be transparent to also be able to view the image in the background.

Select the image, then Format >> Area >> Transparency.
