I have a spreadsheet with a lot of empty rows between each data row.

Is there a fuction to automatically delete empty rows, thus compressing all the data into one consecutive list?

By the way, the blank rows are not regular--there is a different amount of blank rows between each data row.

Thanks,
chris.

If you just want to hide the data, not delete the rows, you could use the filter.

Highlight the range you want.

From the menu, Data -> Filter -> AutoFilter

Then click the drop-down arrow at the top of your highlighted area, and select Standard.

In the dialogue box, clik the drop-down in the first Value box, and select not empty, OK

Then all you will see are the rows you are interested in.

If you want to really delete the blank rows, you could instead filter on empty, OK, then highlight the rows (which are the blank ones) and right-click, delete, then go back to the filter, and select all, and you should have just your non-blank rows.

Of course make sure everything is saved before you try this, in case it doesn't go to plan, but I've just tried it and it worked for me (Calc 2.0 on Win98SE).
