Hi all,

I have a problem with OOo. I have a style for each title, but when my title is longer than the space available for the first line, it continues on second line (wow ! Wink ) but the vertical alignment doesn't match with my needs. I searched in OOo options, but I couldn't find where I can set the alignment of that second line of my title. Yet the second line starts at the same vertical alignment as the number, and I want to make it start at the beginning of the line.
Could someone tell me how to do that ?

If you're using Outline Numbering with heading styles, look on the Position tab of Tools>Outline Numbering and increase the Space to text value until the second line is aligned with the first line.

I followed your explanations, and when I increase the space to text value and then press on OK, all the numbers (outnumbers) in the text disapear. I tried several times with different values but the numbers always disapear.

How did you set up your numbering? Did you use apply a numbering style directly to the title, apply a numbering style to the title's paragraph style or use Outline Numbering?

I apply a numbering style to the title's paragraph style.

The heading styles Heading 1 - Heading 10 are by default used for Outline Numbering. When you apply a numbering style to one of the heading styles, you will see numbers at first, but the numbering will disappear when you open Tools>Outline Numbering.

You can either use Outline Numbering (which does not use numbering styles), or use a numbered list (which does use numbering styles).

To use Outline Numbering, remove the numbering styles from the heading styles and define the numbering on the Numbering tab of Tools>Outline Numbering. Adjust the Space to text value on the Postion tab.

To use numbering styles with paragraph styles to create a numbered list, create new paragraph styles to use instead of Heading 1 - Heading 10, or remove the Heading 1 - Heading 10 styles from Outline Numbering. You then adjust the Space to text value for the numbering style.

Thank you !
I discovered Outline Numbering and it's really an easier way to manage the numbering of the paragraphs.
