I'm a new Mac users so it is quite possible I've messed up the installation some way. Here is where I am at now:

1. I installed X11 off the installation disc, at least I think I did. It's apparently part of the SDK. To double check this, I tried to download and install X11 from the Apple web site and it said I already had a later version installed.

2. I got lost with all the builds of OpenOffice around, but it appears that 'OO0_2.0.2rc4.20060311_MacO...-US.dmg' is what I need. Correct? (I tried a couple other builds, but none worked.)

3. I did the installation, but when I try to run it, it appears in the dock for a few seconds, then goes away. No error messages so I don't know what's going wrong.

This is as far as I've gotten. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

- Ron

For a Mactel you need a version compiled for specifically for it. It should say Intel in the name of the file. So far as I know there isn't a properly released version yet.

Thanks for the input. I finally found the problem... X11 wasn't installed (properly). Everything is working OK now.
