default template

I am unable to create a template with a color other than black. Everytime I do, it still only types in black when I open a new file. tia

You are right with your subject: this is because you did not set your own personal default template.
Make a search for the phrase default template in Help and here in the forum - you will find plenty of detailed descriptions on how-to.
