OpenOffice.org 2: How to set up a Portuguese (Brazil) dictionary

Install a Portuguese (Brazil) dictionary on OpenOffice.org by running the dictionary and thesaurus wizard.
Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
File > Wizards > Install New Dictionaries...
Follow the wizard's instructions to install the Portuguese (Brazil) dictionary.
Exit OpenOffice.org, including the quickstarter. (Alternatively, restart the computer.)

Next, set the default language of new documents to Portuguese (Brazil)
Start OpenOffice.org
Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages
Under Default language for documents, choose Portuguese (Brazil)
Click OK
Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids
Beside Available language modules click Edit
Ensure that the language shown is Portuguese (Brazil) and that the dictionary shown under Spelling is checked.
Click Close
Click OK
