unable to uninstall older version

I tried to install v2.0.

Part way thru the installation it tells me that it needs the .msi file for 1.9 122

That file does not exist on my system. Therefore, I can not uninstall it, I can not uprade, I can no nothng to recover from the error. I have no idea how to proceed next.

I want all the previous versions off that machine, in order to install 2.0, or 2.0.1

The new installation system uses MSI, instead of an installation folder, and like most M$ crap, it just boogers up the works.

Does anyone have a suggestion.

All my other machines have OOo, and I have never had problems installing, upgrading, or uninstalling OOo. Why am I now encountering this problem on only this machine?

win 2000 pro, sp4, if that makes a difference. there are a number of .msi's on the sytem , but none for 1.9.122.

Suggestions? Can I d/l version 1.9.122 from some repository, re-install, and then un-install it?

I just had the same problem today: install OO 3.3 cannot uninstall previous version 3.0 cause xxx.msi file not found etc... (on windows XP Pro)
After several tries to solve the problem by some uninstaller utility, I eventually found out what Stevewal wrote several years ago :

It works !! but in fact I found what to delete in :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Microsoft->Installer-Products
there are also a Features and a UpgradeCodes where the product is also referenced
I deleted all the references and the installatikon of OO3.3 worked fine
