Hi,

often you don't know exactly which slide comes next during a presentation. When you click the button the next slide will be shown on the wall. But than you recognize that you wanted to say something for the transition. In this situation should it be possible to preview the next slide on the Notebookdisplay while the main slide is shown an the wall.

I don't know wether this feature is implemented yet or is completely new. I never saw a presentation-software which such possibility.

thanks for ideas
McMars

MS Powerpoint does have this feature. Basically, it show your presentation on one monitor (or projector), and you get a "presentation view" on another one.
This presentation view gives you the current slide, with the notes underneath it. At the left there's a bar with thumbnails of all slides. When you click one of them, they are outputted on projector.
It's a handy feature, I use it all the time, too bad OOo doesn't yet have something like this.

OpenOffice 2 does have a navigator that can be configured to pop up when running a slideshow.

OpenOffice needs to support programatic extensions to this concept:

1) UNO interface for navigation (next/prev/seek)
2) UNO interface for a rendering a slide on a form control
3) UNO interface for specifying a custom dialog for the navigator (which isn't specifically needed since you can probably just start a custom form and use the hooks in #1 to controll it)

I don't know much about the form side of things, but a full screen form will also be required.

This will allow someone to generate their own presentation interfaces.

for example you could implement something that works the same way as the powerpoint one works.

* open a full screen form on the second screen (may need support for identifying screens from uno)
* place a slide renderer on said screen
* open a dialog on the main screen, with a slide sorter control on it
* hook into key and mouse events to navigate

I would be very happy if openoffice allowed this sort of customisation.
