After recently installing OpenOffice 1.1 and uninstalling 1.0.0 and 1.0.2, my Windows2000 Sp3 machine has been giving me a error upon startup.
The error is: "soffice.exe The Application cannot be started. The configuration service is not available. Start the setup application to repair the installation from the CD or the folder containing the installation packages".
Upon getting that initial message I reinstalled OpenOffice 1.1 again. The error persists.
I've searched Google without success. Any ideas on what I should or could do to elminate this error?
Thanks. _________________ "When I dare to be powerful -- to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid." Audre Lorde |

I don't know why you are experiencing this particular problem. I would do this if I were you:
- Uninstall using the uninstall program if you can
- Delete c:\program files\openoffice.org (or whatever the directory is called) manually
- Apply Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000
- Boot the computer
Then I would install OpenOffice.org 1.1 again _________________ www.kaaredyret.dk - OpenOffice resources (templates, extensions, tutorials and more) !
