hi. straight to the point.

from a doc (officeXP) file, i created (saved as) an sxw file.

this file has some images inside. small jpg photos.

when tried to print, many of them appeared only as a square with an "m" character (that m was a greek m).

tried many times. some times some of the photos were printed ok.

when tried to save, close, and open again, many (if not all) photos, were missing!

tried this many times, same result.

i tried to open the old doc and copy paste the photos into sxw, but still not printed normally (just the rounding square of the images). that squares had a small sign at the top left corner (like that in webpages when image is not found..)

why writer cannot save that small images with just copy paste and print the document properly?

i m using oo101 (local: greek), mdk9, 128sdram memory if some1 thinks that this has to do with memory

Shocked

Perhaps this is a bug in the converter. Have you tried creating a new OOo doc (native format) and pasting the contents of your old file? If you paste as text, you won't copy all the old formatting code with it. Then, copy your images to the new document. This takes a bit of work but may fix your problem with the display and printing of images.

maybe its fixed in the upcoming 1.1 release (the beta is already pretty stable, so I expect it pretty soon)
