Hi,

I've recently downloaded for the first time OO 2.0.2 and want to try it (and use it) at home instead of using MS.

I'm trying to import a DB from Access 2002 to OO, but can't.

What can I do? At home, my PC is Windows XP SP1

Thanks
Carlo

There are already a number of posts in these forums about importing Access databases into Base, for example:

Have you a specific problem?

Hi,

I've read the posts and was able to import the files. Unfortunately, it accepts tables but not the forms and it converts the queries and the forms into tables... Sad

The instructions to retrieve the file was in another post :

Thanks

Extracting the tables with MDB Tools is as far as I've got on Linux.

The short answer is NO. OOo does not do Access forms or queries.

hey, bummer about forms and queries,
what about the code? Cause i got a 40 meg mdb file that i really don't feel like redesigning from the bottom up.

If there doesn't exist a way to convert programs, then wtf?

let's get on it community. I have seen the most ingenuitive and intuitive software ever made come from community efforts.

So, since im pretty sure thats the case....

Note to OOo Community:

To be truly welcoming to all users we be compatiable. There exists a wall between MS Acess/VBA programmers and OOo. Let's tear down this wall that so long has kept out those foolish enough to start with MS.
Be it module or stand-alone;
Be itStandard or extra,
just let it be.
