|
|
I have auto spell check turned on. I write in Spanish and I use a lot of slang. I want those "non-standard" words not being checked again so I add them to the standard dictionary (which in my case is the Spanish dictionary). The manual spell check now skips them correctly but the auto spell check still underlines them with the red line. The funny thing is that the red line doesn't actually activate the special right-click menu for corrections. If I right-click on top of the red-underlined word I'll get the standard right-click menu (formatting options). That suggests the auto spell checker now knows the word is correct, but it still underlines it in red.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? |

2.0.3 on Windows and the Spanish langpack. These are the files I used for installation:
OOo_2.0.3_Win32Intel_install.exe
OOo_2.0.3rc7_060622_Win32Intel_langpack_es.exe
Plus, I added the Spanish (Spain) dictionaries using the assistant inside Writer. |

Even if this is not considered a bug, and I think that it is a bug, I consider the behavior to be wrong. When I add a "misspelled" word to the Standard dictionary, it no longer contains the red marking for the US version. _________________ --

| I've just double checked and if I change the default language to English, the behaviour is correct so, yes, this is probably a bug. Should I file it somewhere or do the developers read these forums? |

Too bad developers don't read the forum (I really can't believe that. They're developing for the users, right? )
I've visited the links you have provided. The procedure for checking and submitting an issue makes Spanish bureaucracy look agile and efficient...
I'm sorry I don't have the time to read pages and pages of confusing computer speech just to explain what I've exposed here. Maybe someone who's more used to that stuff wants to report this problem.
Thanks anyway. |

I created the issue for you.
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=68311
Can you please add any additional comments to this?
Please indicate the version of OOo that you use, the operating system, the document type (Writer I assume).
If you have any problems with this, then post this information here and I will add it to the issue. _________________ --

That was very kind of you pitonyak. I just added a comment, only to confirm your explanation which is complete and precise.
Thanks.
