Hey everybody.
I have a problem. I am trying to open a document I have been working on, and somehow there is a password on it. I believe my little sister was messing with my computer. But regardless, there is a password, and I do not have it. This document is very important to me, and it is suffice to say very critical that I regain access to it. Is there any way I can find the password, or bypass it or even reset it? Anything...
Thank you very much,
Diomedes |

If a file is saved with a password, then the contents are encrypted. The only way I know of to get at the contents without knowing the password is to use a cracker. I wrote a cracker that uses a dictionary attack:

Basically, you give it a list of words to try, and it tries each one in turn until it finds the right one or runs out of words. It may be easier/faster to persuade your sister to tell you what the password is. If you can't, then try the above macro. It's slow, so you may want to try giving it a short list of likely passwords before you try a full dictionary attack.
