hi all,
I have openoffice 1.1.0 and I configure spanish as locale (to have data format ok for me dd/mm/aaaa), but then the decimal separator is coma
the problem is my keyboard numeric pad have a point not a comma
it is possiible to select spanish for data format but select english for numeric format?

we had a thread on this topic just before you joined.
A french user found a solution which involed a small patch
Do a search on "DOT and COMMA" _________________ carl

ok, this patch works, changing ascii code of keypad dot
but then other programs can be confused
is there any way to select separetelly the data format and the numeric format
I had the same problem with gnumeric and I solved using locale enviroment variables
I select spanish as defult and set LC_NUMERIC and LC_MONETARY=en_US.UTF-8
so I have spanish data format and dot as separator for number
