query / form question

i'd like to be able to find certain records based on more than a single
field filter. in other words, i'd like to be able to find records where
field 1 = a, field 5 = b, and field 8 <> null.

i currently have a form set up that displays all of my records. can i
apply a query to this form or do i have to make a new form and
assign it a query as its data source? as i understand it, the 'find
record' filter seems to only work with one field at a time.

I've done something similar, but using a table control. Putting a filter on a table control may be a solution to your query
