HI All.

I'm having some trouble with OOo 2.03 (I think) on Suse linux.

As background the document I'm working on is my PhD thesis (50,000 words, inserted graphics). Firstly if I try to update my index at the begining of the document OOo hangs indefinitely. The same happens if I delete the index and try to insert a new one.

Secondly, if I take the same document (saved as an .odt file) and try to open it in StarOffice 8 it opens as read only. Why is this and are there any tips for the index problem?

Thanks

duff

Divide et impera-solution (-> tribute to Julius Caesar)

1. Remove graphics and try a smaller sample of your document (say 3 % textsize)
2. Remove graphics with full size text document
3. Try a smaller sample of your document including graphics (say 3 % textsize)

This method will reveal the graphics or the text as a problem.
