Hello,

I've tried to find something applying here but (due to the nature of the problem?)
I wasn't successful.

The Problem:

SuSE 9 Linux 2.4.23 (custom kernel), root:
./Setup -net
glibc 2.3.2
(launches progess bar)
Until Progress bar is finished Setup dies.

There are no further messages or log-entries in .xsession-errors & syslog ....

The Problem the other way round:

I install OO from SuSE 9's rpm's.
No Problem so far.
When I try to start it I get:
Installing default (de) configuration...
/usr/X11R6/bin/OOo: line 1311: 6760 Speicherzugriffsfehler $OOo_GLOBAL_HOME/progr
am/setup -R:$OOo_RESPONSE_TMPFILE $OOo_SETUP_OPTIONS
Error: The default configuration was not created.
Error: Try again or try to run "OOo-wrapper --skip-check"

Trying "OOo-wrapper --skip-check" ends up in the same as above (nothing)

The funny thing:

OO (rpm installation) worked before I recompiled the kernel!
- I compiled from kernel.org Sources
- The only .config-Option that was changed was the processor architecture (pentium pro -> athlon)
