I have a really deep calc sheet going, and have to keep scrolling up to the top to read the heading of the column. Can't I float the headings, or split the page horizontally? I know I can Hide a bunch of rows, but prefer, if I can, to float or split.
Thanks!

Chuck:
The answer to your question is: Yes.
Method to "float the headings, or split the page horizontally" is, from the Menu:
Window -> Freeze
According to the Calc Help, search term freezing rows or columns:
| Quote: | If you have long rows or columns of data that extend beyond the viewable area of the spreadsheet, you can freeze them, which allows you to see the columns or rows as you scroll through the rest of the data.
1.Select the row below, or the column to the right of the row or column that you want to be in the frozen region. All rows above, or all columns to the left of the selection are frozen.
To freeze both horizontally and vertically, select the cell that is below the row and to the right of the column that you want to freeze.
2.Choose Window - Freeze.
To deactivate, choose Window - Freeze again. |
I hope this helps, please be sure to let me / us know.
