When I switch the writer to show online display, then the Heater and footer disappear?
Why?

That's because you're essentially viewing it as an HTML page. HTML pages don't have headers and footers in the same way that docs have. It's one long page. You can have header information but that's more for things like the title tag, meta tags and scripts.
If you need an easy html editor, writer works fine. |

| For web pages, I think you're better off using a real html editor. Writer is okay for VERY simple html docs but for greater flexibility and better html code, try something like Dreamweaver. |

| What you should avoid at all costs is using MS Word to create html pages. There is so much useless spaghetti code in there that your pages will be MUCH larger than necessary, which means longer download times. |
